No. Our job is to help you every step of the way... including 23 site visits to your construction process.

How much money can I save?

Builder margins typically average 20% to 25%, and that can all go into your pocket when you manage the project yourself, minus our project fee. You can either pocket the savings (instant equity!) or use the money to build a bigger home and/or one with more amenities.

Will I be doing any of the actual work?

You will be managing the process—mostly by cell phone. But you never have to pick up a hammer – unless you want to! A few of our clients do choose to “hire themselves” for some of the work, so it is an option.

What role do you play exactly?

We provide the construction expertise. We have access to suppliers, subcontractors, and financial providers. We visit the job site with you 23 times to make sure the timing and scheduling are on track, and to inspect the work and prevent and/or catch any problems. In short, we’re your hands-on construction consultant.

How much of my time will this require?

If you were to hire a builder, you’d still have to work through the design, choose the materials, and make certain decisions during the building process. With UBuildIt, you will take on responsibilities of “general contractor” so you’ll be coordinating subcontractors and making more decisions (with our help, of course!). You should expect to allocate 5 to 10 hours per week toward building your home during construction.

How do you get paid?

We get paid a project fee that is equal to a percentage of the total build job. Our fees vary depending on the complexity of the project; we’ll be happy to give you an exact quote after meeting with you to determine your specific needs. You can count on our fees being MUCH lower than the mark up you’d pay a builder—which gives you more equity.

Who pays the bills?

You do. You control the money and monitor costs as the project progresses.

Do I need to find land or have my building plans before I call UBuildIt?

No, This is actually the best time to start working with UBuildIt. Getting our professional help before you buy the land or prepare the plans can help you avoid costly mistakes.

Can UBuildIt help me with my remodel?

Yes! Many families have successfully remodeled or added on to their homes using the UBuildIt System.

What if I need land?

One of the benefits of dealing with UBuildIt is our network of resources and experienced real estate agents that understand where land is available in your marketplace. We can help guide you through the process.

Can UBuildIt help me with home plans?

You can take advantage of UBuildIt’s relationship with qualified architects and designers. We will connect you with local professionals who will work very closely with you and your consultant as your plans are being developed or to adjust existing plans to local building practices.

Can I hire UBuildIt to take on more active role in managing my project?
